Last month, we were celebrating the news that Louis Perrin had been named Young International Freight Forwarder of the Year. We’re now delighted to reveal that we have been nominated as finalists for both the Project Forwarding Award and Staff Development Award at the 2018 BIFA Freight Service Awards.

Now in its 30th year, the BIFA Freight Service Awards is recognised as one of the most prestigious awards events in our industry. Encouraging and rewarding high standards and professionalism, it represents the ultimate recognition of special achievements in logistics and freight forwarding.

Project Forwarding Award

Extremely passionate about cars and with a large portfolio of supercar projects, we chose to submit our Bugatti Chiron and Bentley Bentayga Project because we co-ordinated a complex movement that required specialised attention, including careful security considerations and logistical synchronisation.

Winning this award would showcase our attention to detail and quality of customer care, both of which are key to delivering world-class logistics and supply chain solutions.

“This was such a unique project to be a part of. We enjoyed the challenge and were motivated to ensure that our client enjoyed an amazing trip. I would like to think that the solution and service that we provided is one that both Bugatti and Bentley would be proud of themselves.”

Staff Development Award

At Hemisphere, we believe the logistics industry provides amazing career opportunities, and we strive to promote the benefits of working within it to all concerned, including young people seeking to set out their own career paths.

Over the past 12 months, we have invested well in excess of £300,000 in staff training, commencing our BIFA-approved apprenticeship scheme and significantly improving our facilities for staff welfare, all of which we consider to be key areas in creating even stronger foundations for our future.

“Having developed from a single office and an initial team of four people nearly 30 years ago to now becoming a multi-facility operator both within the UK and overseas, evolving a strategy for our staff development has been vitally important not only for our company’s benefit, but for our team, both of course being intrinsically linked.”

– Andy Perrin

We’re pleased that BIFA has recognised our commitment to ongoing staff development, which ultimately helps us deliver strong and consistent customer service to our clients. We look forward to joining other finalists at the award ceremony, which takes place in London on Thursday, 17 January.
