In order to provide our customers with the best service, we’re delighted to announce that our warehouse in Skelmersdale, Liverpool is now bonded. This update bolsters our warehouse offering for customers across the UK, from Felixstowe, Port One, London Heathrow and Liverpool.

What is a bonded warehouse?

A bonded warehouse is a secure facility that customers can store their imported goods without needing to pay the duties until they are released or exported. Bonded warehouses are regulated by customs authorities and any good stored there are under the supervision of customs officials. This means that they are considered to be ‘in transit’ and have not yet entered the country for customs purposes. What does this mean for our customers?

The primary purpose of a bonded warehouse is to provide businesses with a storage and processing facility for imported goods while deferring the payment of import duties and taxes until the goods are released into the domestic market. This can be advantageous for businesses that need to delay payment of duties, re-export goods, or carry out manufacturing operations before finalising customs clearance. This change in our warehouse means that we’re now able to offer customers access to various bonded warehouses close to major ports across the UK.
