On Thursday 18th January, we were back at one of our favourite events. The BIFA Freight Service Awards took place at The Brewery in London, hosted by ‘Queen of the Pit-Lane’, Suzi Perry. Not only were we shortlisted for two categories, we took the win for the fifth time! This year in the ‘Project Forwarding’ category for our work on the T-Pylon project.

BIFA win

This award showcased our involvement in the commission of 116 new pylons in the South West of England. This project is part of National Grid’s Hinkley Point C power station initiative to provide low-carbon energy to 6 million homes and businesses as part of the UK’s efforts to reach net-zero by 2050.

We were asked to handle the logistics for the components from UK port all the way to the locations of the final installation. Unloading vessels, hiring cranes, providing storage facilities, marshalling the many pylon parts, and organising the trucking ensuring a safe an timely arrival to the site. It was our personal involvement from the team and our fierce attention to detail that enabled the project to run as smoothly as it did for all involved. Read more about the project in our latest case study.
