At HFS, our team is working hard to ensure essential supplies are continuing to reach those in need. Every individual is committed to helping our clients navigate these challenging times – and that includes those who have recently joined HFS.

Faye Maconochie Alves

With over 11 years’ experience in the freight forwarding industry, Faye Maconochie Alves has joined Hemisphere as a project and business development manager.

Faye started her career at the age of 18 in her native South Africa, providing administrative support for road freight services. She has since held various roles – from multi-modal operations and project logistics to management and business development – becoming a specialist in the movement of project cargo, with a focus on mining, power, oil and gas.

In her role at Hemisphere, Faye will be using her expertise to build strong relationships with suppliers and customers, developing opportunities and successfully delivering projects with our clients and overseas partners. She’ll also be proactively developing our activity in new sectors, while building upon our success in established sectors.

Commenting on her decision to join Hemisphere, Faye said: “I was blown away by the exponential growth the company had seen in a 30-year period and excited by the projects the team had already handled.

“I was humbled by the interest, compassion and great amount of effort Louis (Perrin) and Dan (Leach) put into making my move to the UK and Hemisphere as smooth as possible. I believe we all knew immediately it was the perfect fit.”

Marcus Harden

To further enhance our client experience, we have reappointed Marcus Harden in the newly-created role of commercial manager. Marcus previously spent over four years at HFS before moving to shop fitting manufacturer SFD to experience logistics from the client’s side. He has continued to work closely with HFS, and when SFD entered administration in November 2019, both HFS and Marcus were keen to reunite.

Now armed with experience from a client’s perspective, Marcus will be responsible for developing commercial opportunities for HFS in varying forms, from promoting our value adding key accounts package to growing our team of logistics consultants. He will work across the company to implement a coherent commercial strategy, ensuring that new and existing clients experience the full benefits of our infrastructure, all-encompassing solutions and expert teams to create mutual commercial opportunities and growth.

Given Marcus’ previous experience and success with HFS, we have every confidence that he will excel in his new role and make 2020 an even more successful year for the company.

“Over the past two years, Hemisphere has continued to go from strength to strength in what is a very competitive marketplace,” said Marcus. “My aim is to use my experience since being away from the business to further enhance our already industry-leading service and account management capabilities, whilst growing our sales teams both domestically and internationally. It feels like I have never been away, and I’m excited by the challenges to come over the coming months and years.”

Sarah Cotton

Joining us from Karl King, Sarah brings over ten years’ transport experience to HFS. In her role as transport administrator, she will be providing essential support to our road haulage team, assisting clients with the movement of their products around the UK.

With a focus on providing the most efficient road transport solutions to clients, Sarah is responsible for building external and internal transport jobs into our traffic system and ensuring we have all the information required. She also books jobs with our pallet network, which involves close communication with the transport team, and liaises daily with third-party hauliers to ensure the day’s deliveries are on track.

Any client who contacts our road haulage team can expect their enquiry to be dealt with promptly by Sarah, whether they’re looking for an update on their delivery or a quotation for a new job.
