At HFS, we are always looking towards the future, ensuring that we can deliver the same high level of service to our customers as our business expands. Indeed, recent growth and internal promotions meant that we were delighted to welcome a whole host of new team members. So, who are our latest recruits?

Warehousing

We recently acquired 60,000 square feet of warehousing space at the Port of Felixstowe, adding to the expansive facilities we already have in Ipswich, Skelmersdale and London Heathrow. With a view to taking on more space when it becomes available, the acquisition has significantly enhanced our warehouse capacity, while opening up a number of new positions across the team.

To support the development of our warehousing service, we are excited to announce the appointment of Michael Webster as Warehouse Operations Manager. Michael brings over a decade’s worth of logistics experience to the team, having held previous roles with Associated British Ports, TNT and Tufnells Parcels Express.

In his role at Hemisphere, Michael looks after a vital part of our customers’ supply chain, managing the warehousing team, processes and systems to ensure goods are received and dispatched promptly.

To help Michael deliver an efficient warehousing service, we have brought on four additional team members. Zoe Carey, Ben Stobbs and Scott Ballinger join us as Warehouse Operatives, with Jennifer Hogwood appointed as Warehouse Administrator.

With our e-commerce fulfilment service growing rapidly due to a surge in online shopping, we have also appointed Francisco Perreira as Fulfilment Administrator. Francisco will be looking after the needs of Amazon sellers and other fulfilment clients, from handling their orders to arranging distribution around Europe.

Customs

The UK’s departure from the EU has increased the need for customs assistance, with customers now requiring customs clearance services to transport their goods to and from the continent. To assist our customers with the changes resulting from Brexit, we have appointed Samantha Betts and Jack Jones as Customs Operatives within our fast-growing customs team.

Samantha and Jack are qualified to handle customs formalities for all modes of transport. As well as completing customs entries for imports and exports, they can also support customers with general customs advice as well as handling customs declarations on our clients behalf.

UK Transport

At HFS, we’re always looking to grow our UK transport team, and we were delighted to welcome Stephanie Cole as a UK Transport Operative in January. Stephanie is always there for our customers, offering operational support and resolving issues promptly and effectively. A key cog in our operations team, she maintains communication between our customers, imports team and network of subcontractors.

Of course, our UK transport team wouldn’t be what it is without our dedicated drivers. As we continue to grow this side of the business, we have welcomed Danut Lorga and Reno Betts as Class 1 Drivers and Lindsey Moore as a Class 2 Driver. Needless to say, they’ve already clocked up a serious amount of miles for our customers between them.

We have also bolstered our European Road Freight team with the appointment of Robyn Jepp as European Operative.

Other New Arrivals

Beyond these three departments, we have made a number of other key appointments across the business. Sam Davies has joined HGL New Zealand as Import/Export Operations Manager, working out of our Auckland office, while Joanna Ling has joined our Customers Services team in Shenzhen, China, helping Customer Services Supervisor Joyce Huang maintain the strong relationships we have built with our Chinese logistics partners.

Our acquisition of Barton Freight Services has also seen us welcome Clare Moss to the team as Key Accounts Manager. Clare brings a specialist knowledge of antiques shipping to Hemisphere, allowing us to expand our expertise in this area.

Clare’s arrival follows the addition of Jessica Attiba as Global Network Manager. With her worldwide connections, Jessica is already helping to expand our global network, as we forge closer relationships with logistics partners in Europe and further afield. She is joined by Robert Hartley, who was appointed as Global Network Support for our Ocean Freight team.

Andy Perrin, Managing Director of Hemisphere Freight Services, said: “Every one of our new recruits brings experience and energy to the Hemisphere team, and they join at an incredibly exciting time for the business. We look forward to supporting their career development and seeing what they can achieve, both for themselves and our customers.”
