Hemisphere Freight Services is delighted to announce that warehouse operative Dean Lambert and managing director Andy Perrin have been awarded the ‘Inspirational Young Person’ of the year and ‘Supporter of the Year’ awards respectively at the 2019 Inspire Suffolk Awards.

In 2018, HFS officially partnered with Inspire Suffolk and sponsored our first 12-week programme run in conjunction with the Prince’s Trust. It was as a result of this programme that we welcomed both Dean Lambert and Matt Gilson for two-week work placements respectively, and now as full-time team members.

The awards ceremony took place on April 9 and is the second of its kind from Inspire Suffolk, which works to support young people between the ages of 16-25 across Suffolk, North Essex and Norfolk. The charity is dedicated to providing young adults with guidance as they enter into the world of work, education or further training and development, and also provides programmes that allow individuals to take part in work placements across a range of industries.

The awards themselves celebrate the success of staff and students; highlighting both individual and team achievements across a variety of categories including teaching, fundraising and community engagement. The awards also recognise those individuals who are committed to creating a positive future for themselves and that inspire others; recognising those who have accomplished amazing achievements throughout the year.

Making an impact

The ‘Inspirational Young Person’ award recognises the commitment and determination of a young person who has overcome individual challenges and has left a positive impact on friends, family and colleagues. Dean joined Hemisphere on a work placement through Inspire Suffolk, and impressed us so much with his constant professionalism and dedication that we decided to offer him a full-time position with the team here in Suffolk. This award is a true testament to Dean’s achievements, including his incredible, unwavering work ethic, attitude and valuable contribution to HFS.

Congratulations are also in order for Rachel Reddington, member of the Inspire Suffolk team and winner of ‘The Extra Mile’ award, sponsored by HFS.

Craig Perrin, warehouse manager, said: “We are so proud of everything that Dean has achieved since he joined us on his work placement in 2018. He has shown real commitment to Hemisphere and to succeeding in his role, so is very deserving of this recognition. We look forward to seeing how he continues to grow and develop in the team and as an individual. ”

Our managing director Andy Perrin was also recognised as ‘Supporter of the Year’ in recognition of his support of Inspire Suffolk as a Patron of the charity, a role which sees him help the charity and impart valuable life skills and resources to enable other young adults onto the right path.

Commenting on the award, Andy said: “Having attended the Inspire Suffolk awards ceremony, I was inspired by the achievements of so many individuals and young adults who have not only made a positive difference to their own lives, but also to those around them. We are so proud of our partnership with Inspire Suffolk, and while I wasn’t seeking personal recognition, I’m nevertheless very proud to have been recognised for my support, which I hope to continue in the years to come.”
