We always like to keep you updated with the latest Hemisphere news – and we have lots to shout about as we move into the second quarter of the year. This month, we are celebrating some significant employee work anniversaries, the delivery of another successful project, and our acquisition of three new trucks.
Employee Milestones
Four members of our team celebrated work milestones in April, including Daniel Hammond, who is celebrating three years with us, plus three more members of the team who are celebrating impressive ten-year milestones: Dan Bacon, Karen Vincent and Nick Rosedale.
Daniel Hammond
Daniel Hammond celebrates three years at Hemisphere as a member of our Global Network team. Daniel supports the daily logistics solutions for our internal teams and overseas partners; ensuring the handover from the initial booking stage to the operations team is smooth. Daniel’s positive attitude to daily challenges truly represents our internal core values, and it is clear that he enjoys building upon his expertise to drive the Hemisphere brand forward.
“Every day is different and has the potential to reward with either converting new business, or growing existing partnerships,” said Daniel. “I enjoy being a part of a team that is both hard-working and vibrant.”
Dan Bacon
Dan Bacon works within our warehouse team and oversees the daily devan of containers, load out of external vehicles, and loading of containers. Celebrating ten years at Hemisphere, Dan was recently involved in the successful loading of one of our client’s Ferrari F430 supercars; a particular highlight for Dan, and a project that you can read more about here.
Karen Vincent
Karen Vincent also celebrates an impressive ten years with Hemisphere. As our Warehouse Administration Supervisor, Karen is responsible for maintaining our warehouse stock records, the preparation of paperwork and ensuring that containers are successfully booked for collection. Karen is particularly proud of the strong relationships she has formed and sustained with Hemisphere customers and our internal teams, and we are pleased to congratulate her on the positive impact she has made on the team over the last ten years.
Nick Rosedale
Another ten-year milestone is marked for Import Administrator, Nick Rosedale, whose role sees him liaise directly with overseas agents and customers to ensure their products are successfully custom cleared into the UK and delivered to their end destination. Working within a large team, Nick particularly enjoys the varied nature of his work as well as the team he works with, and strives daily to deliver the best solutions for our customers.
A huge congratulations to Nick, Karen, Dan and Daniel on their impressive milestones.
Hemisphere Acquires Three New Trucks
We’re pleased to inform our customers and partners that we have recently acquired three new trucks, including two new FH Globetrotter Tractor Units and one new Volvo FE six-wheeler rigid vehicle with tail lift.
All of these new trucks are Euro 6 models, which means they meet the carbon emission requirements, demonstrating our commitment to environmentally conscious solutions. It also allows them to travel freely through ultra low emission zones (ULEZ) such as London.
These trucks are capable of carrying any type of containerised cargo, and can be fitted with trailers that allow the transportation of of curtain-sided trailers and out of gauge open-top containers as and when required.
Our Latest Successful Project
Our team were recently invited to the Guardian Newspaper’s former printing press site in Stratford, East London, to support the packing and transportation of over 300 cases/pallets. These cases contained a number of Ferag print sorting and storage machinery, used for newspaper printing and storage prior to distribution.
This particular project utilised the specific expertise of our export packing and case making team, and each pallet/case was measured bespoke to our client’s specifications. In the space of two months, our team were able to successfully pack the machinery from both London and, additionally, the Guardian emergency sorting facility in Trafford Park, Manchester. The team then transported and delivered the cargo to Melbourne, Australia – their final destination.
You can find out more about this project by taking a look at our case study here.
