We are looking for a commercially minded European Manager to drive our European Team forwards after the changes associated with Brexit and the growing opportunities in the European Market place.

 

 

The role will involve:

As a result of Brexit there has been a need for our European team to become trained and knowledgeable in customs which provides some great opportunities as well as challenges along the way. The European Manager will be responsible for ensuring customs formalities are continued to be bedded in within their team are handled in compliance with customs regulations and passing our knowledge and expertise where required onto our customers.  In addition, we aim to deliver efficient and proactive solutions for both existing and new clients and strive to offer our clients the service that meets their needs, timelines and price point.  Furthermore, we want to be proactive in securing new business and developing existing business with the aim of becoming an integral part of our clients European and wider logistics requirements.

  • Responsible for departmental strategy for continued development and to meet company goals/targets
  • Team management, training, and development.
  • Building and maintaining client relations for new and continued business
  • Promoting HFS European and Customs services to new and existing businesses
  • Developing supplier relationships to ensure both a great service and price for HFS and our Customers
  • Proactive approach to new opportunities or unique enquires with a focus on continually developing our European services
  • Staying up to date with Customs regulations and adapting our processes and client’s processes to meet the new requirements and ensure operational effectiveness
  • Implementation of process and systems for both operations and customs requirements
  • Proactive approach to use of systems to streamline operations and in turn enhance the customer service experience for clients
  • Ensuring that the team can perform customs Entries for Imports and Exports to a high accuracy level and effectively
  • Compliance and auditing of both internal and external performance
  • AEO management
  • Managing data capture and record keeping

  • Strong experience in people management – with a focus on training and developing members within a team
  • Strong operational background with ability to build networks and partnerships to drive service and efficiencies
  • Excellent knowledge of Customs legislation for both Imports and Exports with related procedures and documents
  • Knowledge of Tariffs, Bonded Customs, and Special/Simplified Customs Procedures
  • Customer focussed
  • Competent decision maker with the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines and Targets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analysis skills with the ability to think outside of the box
  • Must have excellent time management, planning and organisation skills
  • Exceptional ability to manage, support staff members and work as part of a team
